I had a similar problem with the PowerMac G5 I moved to the upstairs office which similarly doesn't have wifi. The same security/enhancement caveats apply. Best of luck. This is the Airport express that I have my Cisco 2960 VOIP plugged into…it connected beautifully, and I have dial tone.
