I'm not a business man so I don't know. The 1997 is the only year with that stupid headlight switch!!! They run about $250 US. 1996 Ford Explorer Headlight Switch Replacement The low beams have nevered work on the car so only the high beams works.

The only difference between him and me is that in all this time, the center console has never acknowledged that there was a problem with the lights. So when I turned the high beams on they didn't work. And strangely enough, this happens slowly, like over the course of four or five months. Add your comment to this topic! Every thing is pointing to the LOM (Lights On Module).
So if I understand the wiriring diagram correctly. I would have to giggle the multi function to get them to come back on. Just go buy yourself a cheap testlight from Checkers and test for power starting at the first fuse panel and work your way through. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?
