I have a 99 taurus lx and I have no heat. about 20 bucks for the part.. Car does not run hot. I read about the cooling systems becoming air locked.

If water flows out freely with no constriction, then the core is not plugged. **Note, this does not mean that the heater core is operable. (read below)** Replace hose and clamp. Then I flushed the heater core for and backwards. Back-flushed just the core a few weeks ago, and still no heat. *sigh* Gonna have to swap out the core, I guess... I discovered that practically myself on a 2000 Taurus.
