I took the dash apart and pulled out the Heads Up Display. When the spring comes loose the mirror drops and the image is not displayed in the right position. Remove the light or sensor that connects the top to the bottom. from what i have seen its a horrible problem with a lot of the heads up displays that are pretty easy to fix. Check This Out
Remove the side dash panel that is between the door and the left side of the dash. Allow 3 hours for the repair, but it can be done in 2 hours. To fix it, take out the HUD and drill a new hole in the plastic for the spring to connect to. If it were my car, I think I would disconnect the radiator hoses from the engine and attempt to flush the radiator core out with maybe a garden hose. Same for the upper and lower radiator hoses. Okay, the heads up display is working but there is a spring retainer that is broken which is not allowing the display to shine up on the windshield where it belongs.

I took it to the stealership and they told me that since i have a after market stereo that it caused some sort of voltage spike that fried the heads up You'll probably need FSM wiring diagrams.
