Most all 4 wheel drive vehicles I have owned is this way. thus shift on the fly. That can cause engage and disengage issues but not likely the issue here. . 10 out of 10 people think this is helpful. yet neutral and 4 low both engage as 4 low.

We spent about $18k on this SUV, and we ended up putting about $4k - $5k worth of motors in this car. Just gotta be in neutral to get to 4 low.
