After driving for a few minutes, the speedo and cruise control work fine, and they stay working, they are not erradic. The speedo works fine as I said so that tells me the speed sensor is sending the signal from the tranny, but the odometers are not working. Source

When it quits working for a while I get codes for the VSS and the knock sensor. It is also very peculiar that if the speedo is not working, the auto transmission will not shift into overdrive. most don't have it, but several do. Then on the way home a few days later, the same thing happened.

When you push the reset it disengages the gearing and these little fingers descend and push the dials around to zero.
