Try cleaning it like RyosukeFC3s suggested and see if the speedometer starts working again. make sure it isnt the simple easy cheap fix first! The VSS is located on the transmission, its on the back side of the tranny towards the firewall..U can reach it and take out throught the engine bay. Put a voltmeter on the blu/white wire @ the VSS connector & u should get a 5v pulse as the wheels are turning. I would check the wiring to the VSS make sure everything is good and dandy, if so, replace the VSS. I work for Autozone. All EG (92-95) clusters are interchangeable WITHOUT modification, just plug-n-play. Upon braking, the speedometer will fluctuate from 15-25 mph, and come to 20 mph upon stopping. and since the speedometer seems to work fine sometimes, can this be fixed at home?
